It’s undoubtedly a frustrating and unpleasant experience if you find that the pen tip never matched up with the cursor on the Gaomon screen.

There are many reasons for this problem, including an uncalibrated pen, incorrect driver settings, etc.

Why is My Gaomon Screen Tablet Pen Slightly Off Center? 6 Fixes

When the cursor is off from the pen tip, the accuracy of the drawing will be greatly affected. So we must take necessary measures to solve this problem.

There are a number of reasons which may cause a deviation between the pen’s position and the cursor.

Before discussing the causes and solutions, you should know two definitions. One is offset in the normal range; the other out of the normal range.

To let you know, normal range is an acceptable offset distance which is offset+/- 3mm at the edges and +/- 0.5mm in the center.

Almost all drawing tablets with screen on the market have the offset issue towards the edge of the display. The further away from the center of the screen, the less precise it is.

Even the best Wacom Cintiq tablets aren’t 100% precise, Gaomon’s displays just a bit less precise specially when using the pen tilt. The Screen parallax also messes with the precision. Being cheaper naturally has some caveats.

While out of the range, you should fix it by pen display calibration, adjust display settings, update tablet driver, and more.

1. Calibrate the pen Display

Try recalibrating the pen using the standard calibration utility available on the Gaomon driver App.

open GAOMON driver interface and go WorkSpace to select the ‘Screen Calibration’ button.

For Gaomon, There are two calibration stylus grasps and two calibration methods for you to try. Just follow the instructions step by step.

I recommend Calibrate the display by holding the pen in your normal drawing position.

Calibrate your pen display to align the screen cursor with the position of the pen on the screen. This compensates for viewing angle and adjusts for parallax.

Once you finished Calibrating, Open your Graphic Art App of choice, create a new file/project and test your Stylus. If it works the CONGRATS, we may have found a consistent solution to this issue.

2. Adjust Display Settings

When you connect a Gaomon screen tablet to a computer for drawing, you will generally use two monitors at the same time: primary monitor and extended display.

Sometime the Gaomon tablet driver mapped the pen Input to all your screens by default instead of just the Gaomon display.

It’s a little off when the display captures both the gaomon tablet (extended display) and primary monitor screen.

If you are working with multiple monitors, select the monitor corresponding to your Gaomon pen display only from the drop-down menu of driver settings.

Try recalibration pen after that and it should fix the issue.

3. Modify the Screen Resolution

If you see that your tablet pointer has an offset when working with art app, it might be highly probable, that art app got incorrect screen resolution from the system.

That problem happens mostly when an external monitor is present and when gaomon tablet was connected after the system boot.

Now there is a simple solution to fix this data manually.

Lay you stylus aside, Start the art app without using a stylus, that is using a mouse or a keyboard.

Press Shift key and hold it. Touch the gaomon display with your stylus so your art app would recognize it.

You will see a special dialog asking for real screen resolution, usually 1920*1080. Choose the correct value or enter it manually and press OK.

If you played the game and changed the screen resolution before drawing, please pay close attention to this solution.

4. Check the Screen DPI settings

Check the DPI settings for your display as follows:

Right-click on Desktop and select “Screen Settings”;

Click on “Make text and other items larger or smaller”;

Your may be set to 125% or 150%, then set to 100% and poof offset gone.

5. Update The Driver

Did you have other tablet drivers previously installed? If so, make sure all tablet drivers are uninstalled before installing the Gaomon driver.

If Gaomon is the only tablet driver, Uninstall the current Gaomon tablet driver, reboot, download the newest driver from gaomon site, install the new driver and then reboot again.

The rebooting is very important. Try repeating this whole process if there is no improvement the first time.

6. Contact the Gaomon Support

If none of the above steps work, it is possible that there may be a hardware issue with the tablet or pen.

In this case, you may need to contact the manufacturer for further assistance or consider getting a replacement pen or screen.

You can find them either from the Gaomon website’s support page or their social media.

They are very welcoming but you may have to wait a while!
