Huion kamvas pro 13 full hd vs 2.5k qhd: Which is Better?
Each has a lot going for it. Here are my thoughts about one versus the other in terms of using them.
Design
The finish of the Kamvas 13 pro FHD is elegant, with round corners, soft touch, 1 usb-c port, 4 customizable express keys and a touch bar, and a aluminum metal back with two anti slippery rubber bands.
The monitor has a overall size of 388 x 219 x 11mm, active area of 293.76 × 165.24 mm (16: 9), and weights 910g.
On ther other hand, The Kamvas 13 pro QHD has a one-piece aluminum back case with 4 non-slip rubber feets. You can find 7 customizable express keys (no touch bar) and two usb-c ports on the left side of tablet.
The monitor has a overall size of 373.5 x 229.1 x 10 mm, active area of 286.5 x 179 mm (16: 10), and weights 1kg.
The 16:10 aspect ratio provides more vertical real estate than 16: 9, which is beneficial for multitasking and productivity. Furthermore, A 16:10 monitor can perfectly display both 16:9 and 4:3 content without scaling issues.
Display: 1080P FHD IPS vs 2.5K QHD QLED
The size of the displays are almost exactly the same, the big difference here is the resolution, one is 1080p while the other can go up to 2.5k. The 2.5K Pro screen has 226 pixels per inch (PPI) instead of 166 PPI, which the FHD version has.
You get a lot more detail with 2.5k and a lot more drawing space since 1080p means about 30% of the screen is taken up with UI/Menus etc a lot of the time.
With the higher resolution you have much smaller UI and more drawing space but you still have enough pixels so you can scale your UI via OS display settings.
In addition, The Huion Kamvas Pro 13 FHD uses a IPS LCD while the 2.5K QHD model uses QLED panel.
QLED is a marketing term, actually a VA panel with a layer to enhance color, which aims to improve contrast on standard LCD. IPS, on the other hand, is about improving the viewing angle of the screen.
The Huion Kamvas Pro 13 2.5K QHD has the better image quality. Much higher contrast of 1200: 1 and color reproduction (145% sRGB) as a result.
The Huion Kamvas Pro 13 FHD with an ips panel tops out at around 1000:1 contrast ratio. Limited contrast means a narrower color gamut (120% sRGB), washed out blacks and a lack of clarity.
So, Huion Kamvas Pro 13 2.5K QHD is suitable for professional creators who require a higher level of detail in their work. It’s especially useful for digital painting, where fine details and better screen quality can make a significant difference in the final result.
But Kamvas Pro 13 FHD can still look great, which is suitable for basic sketching and drawing and design, but it may not provide enough detail for some professional work.
Stylus: PW507 vs PW517
PW507 is a older pen for FHD Version while PW517 is a newer pen for QHD Version. They looks similar but with big difference in terms of drawing performance.
PW507 features PenTech 2.0, While the new PW517 has PenTech 3.0, providing better stability with a lower position nib, that enhances your drawing experience.
Bsed on my experience, The upgrade from PW507 to PW517 is really a big difference. The PW517 pen worked better, with much smoother pressure curve, and the felt nibs are fantastic. Regardless of the PR angle the pen does its job perfectly well.
Connection
The one drawback for portability on the Huion Kamvas Pro 13 FHD Version is that the 3-in-1 cable is bulky and annoying for using with a laptop on the go.
As a comparison, The Kamvas Pro 13 2.5K QHD can be plugged to your computer with a 3-in-2 cable or with just a USB-c to USB-c cable.
That last option is a really great feature that not only reduces cable clutter, but also makes carrying the tablet around a lot easier. For example, You can use it connects to an android phone through USB-C.
Compatibility
Huion Kamvas Pro 13 FHD supports connect to Windows, Mac, and Chromebook devices. But it is not compatible with android.
Huion Kamvas Pro 13 2.5K QHD is compatible with various devices such as Windows, Mac OS, and Android phones.
Accessories
You can get all Accessories you need for drawing, and the included accs are almost the same with little differences.
The Kamvas 13 Pro FHD comes with a foldable stand ST300, while Kamvas 13 Pro 2.5K QHD comes with a foldable stand ST200.
The 2 stands looks almost same, the only difference is the adjust angles: ST300 can be adjusted to 6 different angles from 14.5° to 45°, while ST200 can be adjusted to 6 different angles from 20° to 60°.
Additionally, The Kamvas 13 Pro FHD comes with 10 standard replacement pen nibs while Kamvas 13 Pro 2.5K QHD comes wuth 5 standard replacement pen nibs and 5 felt replacement pen nibs.
What are the similarities between the huion kamvas pro 13 full hd and 2.5k qhd?
Both display features Anti-glare Etched Glass surface that protects your eyes from harmful light.
The screens of two are also full-laminated, which means there is no gap between the glass and the LCD panel, reducing parallax and glare.
Both W507 and W517 Pen supports tilt, and 8192 levels of pressure. Both pen are sensitive, have accurate tracking and fantastic Drawing performance . The weakest feature is probably tilt, which I don’t think works too well on any Huion pen.
Conclusion
Since the two are often compared, and since one may wonder whether one is better for them than the other.
For the most part, I mentioned the things that are different between the two, rather than list everything under the roof about them.
If you are a beginner, I would recommend that you try your hand at a cheaper drawing tablet – Kamvas Pro 13 FHD version, which is good enough in most cases. You can easily do anything you need to do with it and save $100 bucks.
If you’re going to be using it constantly for detailed art work for a long period of time, I think getting the Kamvas Pro 13 QHD version is a better long term investment!
It’s a much more robust model and the stylus, color grading and resolution are fantastic. def worth it if you’re working professionally!!
