Huion Pen not centered but offset in photoshop? How to Fix?

There are a number of reasons why a huion pen is not aligned or centered in Photoshop, but you usually can solve this problem by calibrating the pen, reinstalling the driver or changing the display settings.

Before discussing, You should know that Almost all screen drawing tablets on the market, even the wacom cintiq, have the offset issue towards the edge of the display. The further away from the center of the screen, the less precise it is.

In the accuracy item of the specifications of the Huion official website, It is marked as ±0.5mm (center) ±3.0mm (corner).

So If you draw around the center of the screen and there is no misalignment, it may be within the acceptable range.

But If you notice a large offset in the center of the screen, follow these steps to check and fix it:

1. Calibrate the pen Display

Try recalibrating the pen using the standard calibration utility available on the Huion Driver Software.

“Calibrate” is for screen tablets where the cursor position on the screen can become desynced from the pen position on the digitizer.

Open the Huion Driver App, and go to your Tablet “Working Area” settings.

With the monitor space representing the Tablet Display selected, click on Monitor Calibration then do the following.

(optional) Using your MOUSE, move your cursor to the Calibration screen and click on the option that says “Restore Default”. Then click on Monitor Calibration again.

If you chose to do the previous step, proceed with using your stylus of choice to click the red dots as normal. 90° angle is recommended, and tap the targets as precisely as possible.

Once you finished Calibrating, Open the Photoshop and test your Stylus. If it works then congrats, we may have found a consistent solution to this issue.

2. Adjust Display Settings

When you connect a Huion Kamvas screen tablet to a computer for drawing, you will generally use two monitors at the same time: Display 1 (Main monitor) and Display 2 (extended display).

Sometime the Huion tablet driver mapped the pen Input to all your screens by default instead of just the Huion display.

It’s a little off when the display captures both the Huion tablet (extended display) and your main screen.

If you are working with multiple monitors, select the monitor corresponding to your Huion display only from the drop-down menu of driver settings.

Try recalibration pen after that and it should fix the issue.

3. Modify the Screen Resolution

Sometimes the cursor offset issues can be caused by photoshop got incorrect screen resolution from the system.

That problem happens mostly when an external monitor is present and when Huion tablet was connected after the system boot. or you Modify the screen resolution first for other purposes.

If using a 2.5K or 4K huion kamvas pro tablet check that you are running it at its native resolution, i.e. the maximum which Windows will allow.

4. Change the Screen DPI Scaling Settings

Setting the DPI (dots per inch) too high will also cause the cursor to offset.

Check and Change the DPI settings for your display as follows:

Right-click on the desktop and choose “Display settings”.

Under Scale and Layout locate the “Change the size of text, apps, and other items” setting.

Change the value with the dropdown menu.

If your display scale is 125% or 150%. Just change it to 100% so that everything looks smaller and the offset working properly.

5. Reinstall the Tablet Driver

Uninstall the Huion tablet driver, reboot, download the lastest driver from huion official site, install the new driver and then reboot again.

The rebooting is very important for Windows OS. Try repeating this whole process if there is no improvement the first time.
