Drawing on huion tablet but even though the pen is just hovering over the tablet it’s still drawing and won’t stop?

If your Huion tablet continues to draw on the screen even when you lift the pen, it likely means there’s a problem with your Huion Pen or tablet driver.

Pen problems happen with all branded pens and there are an infinite amount of reasons why they happen. But Don’t worry! Here are some possible solutions below that might help you out.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix this problem:

1. Replace the pen nib

The first things to try are always to replace your Nib with a new Pen Nib.

All Huion pens uses EMR technology. They works by wireless transfer, conversion, and detection of electromagnetic waves.

Sometimes the Nib becomes stuck inside the Pen barrel which results in the Pressure Sensor being On all the time. This would make the software think it’s actually pushed down when it isn’t.

Try simply removing the nib and either replacing it with another or just resetting it making sure it’s not sticking/catching on anything. Make sure the pen nib is not worn down. If it is, replace it with a new nib.

In addition, There may be something like particles of plastic caught in your pen sensor, between the tip and the inner mechanics that register the signal, putting pressure on the sensor even without contact. The particles of plastic may be small enough you won’t see anything.

You may be wondering where these plastic particles come from. Let me tell you, As the pen wears it leaves behind very small particles of plastic and these can get caught inside.

In this case, remove the nib, Clean the pen nib with a dry cloth, especially the inside-end of it before you put it back in. Clean the pen nib can help to remove any debris that might interfere with pressure detection.

Finally, If it comes down to needing to replace the pen, it may be worth it to give it a good smack a few times and see if it helps. Tap the top end (not the nib) of the pen against your palm to try and dislodge any catching parts.

Sometimes, just like kicking a machine can sometimes make it work correctly if it fixes a loose wire or something.

Some people have taken their pens apart to locate any plastic that has deformed over time, or from dropping the pen and might be obstructing the spring or nib.

I don’t recommend doing this because the pen cases are glued together and a pair of pliers is required to try and pries them apart, and you can guess what happens, the plastic casing breaks and you are worse off.

2. Adjust the pressure sensitivity level

If that doesn’t work go into pen pressure adjustment section in tablet driver software and change the pressure settings.

If the pressure sensitivity level is set too soft or low, even slight pen hovering can register as a stroke.

Open your Huion tablet driver settings and drag the pressure sensitivity slider down to change the pressure setting from soft to hard.

Once I was having the same issue and this solution fixed it.

3. Uninstall and Reinstall the tablet driver

If the pen problem feels like electronic rather than hardware, there are the standard possible solutions which are to uninstall your drivers and reinstall and then reboot your computer.

4. Replace the Pen

If none of the above solutions work, your pen may require professional repair or simple replace.

If you accidentally drop your pen and damage its internal components, This may also cause this problem. Because your pen is defective or broken.

In this case, your only solution is to buy another pen, I know this is not ideal and is frustrating but unfortunately it might be your only good choice.

Luckily, you can easily find a new one from huion online shop. But please be careful to check the pen model, incompatible pens will not work.
