Your Wacom pen is not working whe you move it on a Cintiq tablet nothing happens on the screen or CSP.

Hi! this is a common occurrence among cintiqs, and there’s a few possible reasons for this to happen.

The good news is that it’s usually an easy fix. In this guide, will show you how to fix a cintiq pen that won’t Register – no matter what the underlying problem is.

Wacom Cintiq Pen not Registering on Clip Studio Paint? 8 Fixes

As far as I know, pressure is handled by the pen and tracking is handled by the tablet, so you can be pretty sure that this is a tablet issue. Unless you are sure the pen is broken.

In any case, one of these solutions could be just what you need to get your stylus registering or working in Clip Studio Paint ptogram again.

Fix 1: Reconnect the Cintiq tablet

If the connection between your computer and the cintiq tablet is loose or not properly connected, it can cause the wacom pen not registered.

Unplug all connecting cables for a few seconds and then plug it back in now uh yep it’s working.

Fix 2: Reboot the Computer

Sometimes this pen not register happens due to sleep mode, RAM Issues, General Computer Errors or something else, which messes up your Wacom tablet driver.

To fix unknow computer errors, The easiest thing to do is just restart your computer. It is only when you restart your PC that the PC truly shuts down and flushes the RAM.

After reboot, See if your Wacom pen could work now.

Fix 3: Restart Wacom services

If you don’t want to restart your computer, what you can do is you can restart the cintiq tablet’s “service”.

To do that, you want to hit the Windows key, type “Services” in search box and return to open Service Manager .

Locate the “Wacom Professional Service” and “Wacom ISD Service” .

Then you can click the “Restart” link to restart it or you can open that service and then you can manually stop and start it.

Fix 4: Check the connection cables

When you buy a wacom cintiq, you will get a six-foot long 3-in-1 cable that connects your cintiq display to your computer for operation.

You have 3 cables:  1. HDMI for the display. 2. USB-A data for the pen and settings to work. 3. USB-A for power (connect to the AC adapter).

Since pen data cable and power cable are both USB-A, it’s not uncommon for these to be switched with each other. Please make sure the pen data cable is the one going to the computer.

In addition, you can try unplugging your pen data cable and plugging it into a different USB-A port. That might fix the problem.

Ensure that the Cintiq tablet is plugged directly into a USB port on the PC and not into a USB hub.

If your cable is visibly damaged or broken, please purchase a new one to replace it.

Fix 5: Install the latest wacom driver

If your cables were OK, You’ll need to make sure that you’re using the latest driver for your tablet, especially when windows OS have updates.

There is a possibility that your Wacom pen is not registering due to an outdated driver.

Try to uninstall, download and then install your drivers to get a fresh start:

Uninstall Wacom Tablet from Control Panel, then restart when requested.

Download and install the latest driver from wacom site.

Once the driver has been installed, restart when requested, then test again.

Fix 6: Change the CSP Preferences

The pen not registering in CSP is generally not related to the software itself, but if you mean the pen has no pressure in the CSP, then the following guide can help you.

Step 1: Inside Clip Studio Paint, go to menu File-Preferences (Ctrl+K) to open the Preferences dialogue box, choose Tablet from the list of tabs.

Step 2: Under “Using tablet service”, toggle between the two options Wintab and Tablet PC, then test for pen pressure.

Pen pressure should work now. Changing other settings further down is usually not necessary.

If pressure still doesn’t work after the step 2 above, try toggling Windows Ink on or off.

You can find “Use or not use Windows Ink” option under Pen Settings in wacom cintiq driver.

With Windows Ink on or off, you may have to go through step 2 again.

Fix 7: Replace the Cintiq Pen

If your wacom pen is broken, for example, by accidentally dropping it on the floor, it will not register or work properly.

If your pen is still under warranty, you may be able to receive a replacement. Note that warranty terms usually don’t cover things like misuse or accidental damage, so make sure to read the fine print first.

If there’s absolutely no hope for your Wacom pen and out of warranty, it’s time to purchase a replacement.

Fix 8: Contact Wacom Support

If none of the above solutions work, you may need to contact Wacom support for further assistance.

They may be able to provide more specific guidance based on your Wacom model and the issue you’re experiencing.
