Key Display Drawing Tablet Features In-Depth Comparison
Here’s a more in-depth analysis of the three tablets, These will help us better understand the pros and cons in each case.
Screen Size and Visual Quality
The Wacom Cintiq 16 has a 15.6-inch screen, while the One 13 and Movink 13 have a 13.3-inch screen.
The Cintiq 16 is more comfortable to paint on because of its larger size. More space means a larger canvas area, or maybe even more space for other windows like references or articles or videos, etc.
While smaller than Cintiq 16, the 13-inch drawing area on Wacom One 13 and Movink 13 is large enough to allow for comfortable drawing without in-app menus and other buttons crowding the artistic area.
In terms of visual quality, Wacom Movink 13 is the best because it features an OLED display panel, which is bright, vibrant and has excellent contrast. It can shows off your photos and drawings to their fullest extent.
OLED displays are getting more popular and, in my opinion, that’s due to the better contrast and more vibrant colours that can be achieved compared to LCDs. Of course, LCD screens are simply cheaper, and a good IPS LCD can still look great.
Wacom One 13 Touch, as well as the Wacom Cintiq 16, have a very similar IPS LCD display. But the Wacom One 13 Touch’s screen just looks slightly more accurate and sharper than cintiq 16 because of the higher PPI, Contrast Ratio and color gamut.
Screen Lamination
Both Wacom One 13 and Movink 13 have a laminated screen, which means less parallax while drawing, because the display panel and the top glass layer are created as a single unit.
Unlike Wacom One 13 and Movink 13, Cintiq 16’s screen isn’t laminated, So you should experience some parallax while using it, particularly around the edge of the screen.
Despite all that, having a non-laminated screen in Cintiq 16 won’t prevent you from drawing well from it, it’s just something that would be quite nice to have in it.
Surface Texture
Both the Wacom One 13 and Movink 13 comes with an etched glass surface while Cintiq 16 only has a pre-installed matte plastic film on the glass screen.
Comparing the etched glass surface to the Cintiq 16’s anti-glare film, the etched glass lasts longer and feels better to draw on – harsher texture than flm, almost like paper. On the other hand, Cintiq 16’s plastic film may be quickly changed.
When it comes to minimizing reflection and glares off the screen, both the plastic film and etched glass do an equally good job.
Stylus Pen
All 3 stylus Pens doesn’t have a battery and doesn’t require charging, as they draws power from the display through Wacom’s electromagnetic resonance (EMR) technology.
These pens have two or three side buttons, which by default are set to pan/scroll and right-click, but you can reprogram them through Wacom Center.
Both the pen included with the Wacom One 13 touch and Movink 13 have no dedicated eraser at the back, but the pro pen 2 included with the Cintiq 16 has one.
The erase function on the pen is very handy, because you can flip it over and use the back end to erase.
As for the pen size, the Wacom one pen and Movink 13 stylus is lighter and smaller than the Cintiq 16 stylus, which may be better for smaller hands.
Using the stylus on longer drawing sessions, the Wacom Cintiq 16 and Movink 13 stylus feels more comfortable than the Wacom One pen because of the rubber grip.
Pen Performance
Both pro pen 2 and newer Pro pen 3 are the most capable stylus that Wacom makes and often considered the best stylus in the industry. Whereas the Wacom One Pen is a new stylus made for beginner Wacom tablets.
Talking about the pressure sensitivity, the Wacom One Pen has a pressure sensitivity of 4096 levels whereas the Wacom Cintiq 16 and Movink 13 stylus comes with the pressure sensitivity of 8192 levels.
the 4096 pressure levels which is more than adequate for drawing and painting but 8,192 pressure levels gives you a more natural pressure response and allows you more Headroom to create a custom pressure curve.
You also get tilt recognition up to 60 degrees on all 3 stylus pens, Which allows you vary the shape of strokes by tilting the pen.
Apart from pressure sensitivity, the real-life pen performance of all 3 stylus is almost equally good. You can’t tell the differences unless you are a professional.
These wacom pens are accurate and sensitivity. Initial activation is low. There’s no wobble or jitter with slowly drawn diagonal lines. Lines are able to taper smoothly and sharply.
Multi-Touch
Both Wacom One 13 Touch and Movink 13 comes with multitouch support. On the other hand, Cintiq 16 doesn’t support this function.
Using multi-touch you can do stuff like scrolling, pan, hold, zoom, and rotate the canvas – which can be very helpful while drawing.
Android Support
Both Wacom One Touch 13 and Movink 13 tablet supports Android devices. As a comparison, The Wacom Cintiq 16 does not work with Android devices at all.
Android support is a great feature for artists who use smartphones and tablets to draw and may not have a Windows or MacOS computer.
It allows you to use Android drawing apps on the drawing table, eliminating the need to carry your laptop.
Connectivity
If we take a look at the connection, the Wacom Cintiq 16 has an X shaped 3-in-1 cable which attaches to the tablet with USB-C and then breaks out to HDMI, USB-A (pen data) and power, the power cable is a USB-a cable with an optional AC adapter.
On the other hand, the Wacom One 13 touch and Movink 13 utilizes a single USB-C cable to connect to a laptop, which means that your wacom One or Movink 13 is significantly more portable, which is great for artists on the go. Additionally, less cord clutter makes it much easier to move your tablet around as needed.
Portability
Both Wacom One Touch and Movink 13 are compact and lightweight, making them both very portable, especially they compatible with android and supports single usb-c cable connection.
The Cintiq 16 is less portable because of larger size and messy 3-in-1 cable.
Note taht All these wacom display tablets are not design for drawing outside, because they need an extra laptop to work.
If you want to draw anywhere and need the portability, consider get a standalone drawing tablet like apple ipad or samsung galaxy tablet.
Tablet Stand
Both Wacom Movink 13 and Cintiq 16 comes with built-in foldable legs that gives an elevation of 19 degrees. This gives a more comfortable use of the tablet, compared to laying it flat on a surface.
On the other hand, The Wacom One 13 Touch does not come with a stand. You can purchase one separately either from Wacom or a third party.
In addition, Both Wacom One Touch 13 and Movink 13 does not have mounting holes to support a VESA stand. But the Wacom Cintiq 16 has built-in holes on the back which means it can support other types of stands and monitor arms.
Shortcut Buttons
Shortcut buttons on the drawing tablet are important. But none of the devices here have any express keys on the device itself.
If you need them, the only choice is the wireless Wacom Express Key Remote (sold separately), which has 17 hot keys, as well as a touch ring for stuff like resizing the brush or zooming in & out the canvas.
Price
The Wacom one 13 touch is priced at 459.50 dollars and the Cintiq 16 cots $649.95. so you need to pay about two hundred dollars more for the extra 3-inch drawing area and more precise pro pen 2 stylus.
The Wacom Movink 13 is a bit more expensive than other 2 tablets but it offers welcomes top-of-the-line Pro pen 3, and a better OLED display that offers excellent Visual quality.
Summary
Despite All of them being made by Wacom. One 13 Touch, Movink 13 and Cintiq 16 have quite many differences.
To a good degree, I think that makes picking once device over the other much easier.
