Key Pen Display Features in-depth Comparison

Here’s a more in-depth analysis of the three tablets, These will help us better understand the pros and cons in each case.

Screen Quality

All three tablets have a 13.3-inch IPS screen with FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, at 164 pixels per inch,, delivering a pretty clear, crisp image.

The color gamut is also the same level, at around 98% sRGB and 90% Adobe RGB. colors looking both rich, vibrant, and true.

However, the Wacom one touch 13 has a higher 2000:1 Contrast Ratio than other two monitors with 1000:1 Contrast Ratio, which means deeper blacks and brighter whites, making images look more lifelike and vibrant.

In contrast, a low contrast ratio can make images appear dull, blurry, and lacking in depth and dimensionality, making it challenging to distinguish object outlines and details.

So, The scren of wacom one 13 touch is obviously better than Huion Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) and XPPen Artist 13. Pro V2, but the difference isn’t significant.

Full Lamination Screen and Parallax

All 3 tablets have the display unit and the top glass laminated together so that there is no gap between them.

This method does a great job of controlling parallax and overall provides a more immersive drawing experience.

Surface Texture and Anti-Glare

All three tablets comes with an anti-glare matte screen surface which diffuses the light really well and adds a slight texture to the surface that feels good while drawing.

However, both wacom one 13 touch and Huion Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) uses the etched glass surface to achieve this effect, while the XPPen Artist 13. Pro V2 use the different tech – a pre-installed screen protector to get a similar result.

Matte Screen protector is usually cheaper than etched AG glass, and replaceable. However, It’s not as durable as etched AG glass, so it’ll scratch and wear out faster.

On the other hand, An etched glass surface is a permanent, built-in feature that offers superior durability and a matte, smudge-resistant finish.

In this respect, both the wacom one 13 touch and Huion Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) wins.

Stylus Pen

Wacom One Pen vs Huion PW600L vs XPPen X3 Pro Stylus Comparison

Wacom, Huion and XPPen all are utilize battery-free styluses – EMR tech – does not require charging at all. The only difference is that Huion’s stylus is a bit heavier than wacom is and XPPen’s. So it depends on preference.

Shortcut buttons on the stylus help you perform quick action, which can be programmed to any shortcut or tool of your choice In the pen settings.

The Wacom One stylus comes with a single button on the stylus with no eraser at the back. On the other hand, Huion Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) stylus comes with 3 buttons, and just like Wacom it also does not have a dedicated eraser at the back.

The XPPen X3 Pro stylus on the other hand has two buttons with an eraser tip on the top end. You can flip the pen back and forth to use this handy function. It also has a soft silicone grip that ensures comfortable use over long sessions, while the other 2 tyluses didn’t have.

Pressure Sensitivity

Huion Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) and XPPen Artist 13.3 Pro V2 have equal 16384 levels of pressure sensitivity, while the wacom one 13 touch has a lower 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity.

Pressure sensitivity changes the width or/and opacity of the strokes depending on how much pressure you apply on the pen. Typically, The more pressure sensitivity levels a device can handle the better control the user has over their input.

The real-life drawing performance on all three tablets is more or less the same. The higher pen pressure on Huion and xppen gives it a slight edge over the Wacom one 13 touch.

Unlike older drawing tablets or styluses, neither Wacom nor Huion has any pen issues like inconsistent strokes, wavy lines (pen wobble), or sudden pressure bumps – which is great.

Even though both the huion and XPPen tablet boasts 16K pressure sensitivity, after 4K sensitivity, there is a diminishing return. So it doesn’t matter that much.

If you want the best wacom pen experience, consider get an affordable wacom cintiq 16 (2.5K) with the most advanced pro pen 3 stylus, which is better than Huion PW600L and XPPen X3 Pro stylus.

Tilt sensitivity

Just like pressure, these styluses can also detect and measure at what angle you have held the stylus.

On paper, Wacom One 13 touch, Huion Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) and XPPen Artist 13.3 Pro V2 stylus can detect tilt sensitivity up to 60 degrees. But in practical uses, the tilt sensitivity on the Wacom stylus is more stable and works better.”

Compared to pressure sensitivity, tilt sensitivity is not that important and most artists rarely use this feature. But in case you make a certain type of artwork or heavily use brushes such as spray bruh then you should go with the Wacom One touch 13.

It is also important to note that, unlike pressure sensitivity, tilt sensitivity works with only certain types of brushes that are specially made to work with tilt sensing styluses.

Initial activation force

The initial activation force is how much pressure you need to apply in order for the stylus to detect the touch and start drawing. The lower the initial activation force, the better.

Comparing the three styluses, the Huion’s PW600L stylus has a slightly better activation force and it can detect the slightest of touch from the stylus. The new X3 Pro Stylus with X3 smart chip is also good in this regard.

The wacom one pen has OK performance with 5g IAF, but is absolutely not as good as Huion PW600L pen, and XPPen X3 Pro stylus.

Previously, the initial activation force of the Huion and XPPen styluses was much higher than that of Wacom pens, but they have improved considerably now, which is great.

XPPen high-end tablets utilizes the X3 smart chip pen tech while the huion tablets with models released after 2021 featuring Huion Pen Tech 3.0 and even newer pen tech 4.0. This greatly improves pen precision.

Response time and latency

How much time it takes for a dot or stroke to appear on the screen is determined by how fast the tablet can communicate with the computer. The lower the latency, the faster is the response time.

The Wacom one 13 touch has a latency of 19 ms, the Huion Kamvas 13 has 25 ms latency whereas XPPen Artist 13.3 Pro V2 has 14ms.  For reference, you have 1000 ms in 1 second.

So you can say xppen artist 13.3 Pro v2 tablet is pretty faster than other 2 tablets, but in real life, They’re both very low latency, Few people would notice the difference as substantial

Design & Build

All three tablets have a matte plastic casing. No matter where you press the tablet, you will not hear any squeaking sound or see any moving parts, giving it a reassuring feel.

Huion Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) comes with 5 shortcut buttons and 2 dials located on the left side of the tablet. You can choose between two colors: Cosmo Black or Sakura Pink.

XPPen artist 13.3 Pro v2 features a black chassis with 8 buttons and a signature red dial, offering a premium feel for this entry-level device.

All these buttons and dials can be easily programmed to any shortcut of your choice.

On the other hand, Wacom one 13 touch is the smallest and most portable option among three tablets. It features a simple, clean, and minimalistic design that has no shortcut buttons or dials.

This is a personal preference thing though and not a necessity, but something to keep in mind if you do like this feature.

Connectivity

All 3 tablets are not a standalone tablet and must be connected to a computer to work. They all supports both 3-in-1 cable and single usb-c to usb-c cable connection.

Single usb-c to usb-c cable is a good and handy thing because it eliminates cable clutter and improves portability.

But for this to work, your computer also need the right USB-C port. It must be at least USB 3.1 with DisplayPort 1.2 to deliver video and enough power.

The wacom one 13 touch comes with a usb-c cable in the box,  but doesn’t provide the 3-in-1 cable.

The Huion kamvas 13 (Gen 3) only comes with a 3-in-1 cable (USB-A, HDMI and Power to USB-C), , the USB-C cable must be purchased separately.

XPPen artist 13.3 Pro v2 is the most generous which offers both the 3-in-1 cable and 3-in-1 cable in the package.

The driver

Before you start drawing with these 3 tablets, you’ll need the tablet driver from their official website.

You’ll be able to customize your tablet buttons, dial functions, pen buttons and pressure curve here.

The drivers are all fully functional and largely the same. Perhaps Wacom’s driver is more stable – this is just my personal feeling.

Multi-Touch Support

The main difference lies in the multi-touch. Both Huion Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) and XPPen Artist 13.3 Pro V2 does not support and touch gestures, and will not recognize your fingers – it will only recognize the stylus.

The Wacom 13 Touch gives you multi-finger touch support in addition to digital pen, meaning that you can make standard zoom gestures that you would on a smartphone, as well as assign additional keyboard shortcuts to different finger gestures, which is incredibly useful.

Multi-touch is an expensive feature, if you don’t need this function, you can get the bigger 14-inch Wacom One 14 at the half of price – $299.95. Furthermore, this feature in wacom one 13 is not perform as well or smooth as it is on the Apple iPads.

Accessories

Wacom one 13 touch only comes with essential Accessories such as digital pen, cable, AC adapter, and 3 replacement nibs.

Although cheaper, huion kamvas 13 (gen 3) and xppen artist 13.3 pro v2 tablets comes with much more accessories, including cleaning cloth, drawing glove, pen holder or stand, more replacement nibs, etc.

Price and Value for money

Even though Huion Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) and XPPen Artist 13.3 Pro V2 have more features (shortcut buttons, higher pressure level) as Wacom one Touch 13 except Multi-touch, still they are significantly cheaper – less than half.

XPPen Artist 13.3 Pro V2 lacks the etched glass surface but comes with a pre-installed matte screen protector, but it is $50 cheaper than the Huion Kamvas 13 (Gen 3).

So if you are looking for a budget-friendly 13.3-inch display drawing tablet, that has all the features that you need – Huion Kamvas 13 or XPPen Artist 13.3 Pro v2 is the right choice.

If you have more budget, need the multi-touch feature, and want to experience the wacom pen for drawing, then wacom one 13 touch is also a good choice.
